Yah Brew is a 90s- and classic-video-game-themed brewery and taproom on West Chocolate Avenue in downtown Hershey — house beers poured from a green Mario-pipe tap line, a wall painted like a giant Game Boy, pinball, and a full kitchen, a short walk from Chocolate World.
Our take This is where we send grown-ups who want a night out with some personality near Hershey — a couple of blocks from Chocolate World and an easy walk to axe throwing at Stumpy's. About 15 minutes from our shop at I-81 Exit 80 if the car needs a look while you're in town.
Yah Brew is the Hershey taproom of a small, female-owned Pennsylvania brewing company, sitting right on West Chocolate Avenue in the heart of downtown — close enough to Hersheypark that you can catch the coasters on a quiet night. It opened in spring 2023 and leans all the way into 1990s and classic-video-game nostalgia: a "Brewboy Color" feature wall painted to look like an oversized Game Boy, a beer-tap line built to resemble a green Super Mario warp pipe with about a dozen handles, a digital "On Tap" menu board, pinball machines, and TVs running 90s music videos. It's the kind of room that makes grown-ups who grew up on cartridges grin the moment they walk in.
Beyond the theme, it works as a real taproom and kitchen. They pour their own house-brewed beers and hard seltzers alongside guest taps from other Pennsylvania breweries, plus wine and a cocktail list with names like "Smells Like Teen Spirits," and the food runs from pizzas and wings to hoagies, tacos, and a Sunday brunch. As of our last check the Hershey taproom was generally open Tuesday evening for trivia, Wednesday through Friday afternoon into the evening, Saturday midday to night, and Sunday late morning into the afternoon for brunch, with Monday closed.
