Stumpy's Hatchet House of Hershey opened in November 2020 inside a remodeled, roughly 100-year-old former Hershey Company building — once the company's salvage yard and transfer station — set back behind the street frontage on West Chocolate Avenue. The space is about 13,000 square feet of industrial character: caged throwing lanes with bullseye-and-clock targets, live-edge wood-slab tables, and a wall of stacked wood rounds behind the glowing "Stumpys" sign. Each booked group typically gets its own private pit, a trained coach runs you through a safety briefing and the basics, and there are side games like cornhole, pinball, and skee-ball to round out the visit.
It's part of the national Stumpy's Hatchet House franchise but is locally owned by two Annville-area couples, and it's earned a steady following for parties, team-building, date nights, and rainy-day groups. The venue is BYOB — you bring your own beverages (snacks and soft drinks are on site, and you can have food delivered from nearby Hershey eateries). Younger throwers ages eight and up are welcome with an adult during general hours, while Friday and Saturday nights after 5 PM are 18-and-up; reservations are recommended and required for some sessions and private bookings, so it's worth booking ahead — especially for weekends.
