Our take A KOA right at I-81 Exit 90 is a genuinely handy basecamp for a Hershey trip, and a creekside cabin or pull-thru site beats fighting for a hotel near the park. Since we do RV repair and hitch work too, we know how much a long tow can shake loose — if anything feels off on the rig coming or going, we're a quick stop down I-81 at Exit 80, about 12 minutes north of Hershey.
If you're towing a camper or just want an easy place to park the RV for a Hershey weekend, the Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA Journey is about as convenient as it gets. It sits practically on top of I-81 Exit 90 in Lickdale — the entrance is only a few hundred feet from the ramp, near the SR 72 light — so you're off the highway and setting up in minutes. You get the full mix: pull-thru RV sites with full hookups that can handle the big rigs (advertised up to about 100 feet), tent sites with some down along Swatara Creek, and camping cabins for folks who'd rather not pitch a tent. The creekside cabins sleep about four and sit within roughly 100 feet of the bathhouse (no private restroom inside), and there's a camp store on site with snacks and a little ice cream counter — Hershey's and Turkey Hill — so a forgotten s'mores kit or a treat run doesn't mean getting back in the truck.
