Our take The Outpost sits in Harrisburg's walkable Midtown district, an easy add-on after a day in the Hershey area — and only about 35 minutes from our shop at I-81 Exit 80 if anything on the car needs a look on the way back north.
Zeroday Brewing is a Harrisburg craft brewery that poured its first pint back in 2015, and the name borrows a hiking term for a rest day — a zero-mileage day spent recovering rather than covering ground. These days the easiest place to find their beer is the Outpost at Midtown Cinema on Reily Street, where the taproom sits right inside a working independent movie house in the city's Midtown arts district. It is a genuinely unusual setup: you can grab a house pour and catch an indie film in the same stop, which is not something most central PA breweries can offer. The Outpost also runs a gourmet hot dog bar and an outdoor beer garden that is worth using when the weather cooperates.
It is worth knowing that Zeroday's original flagship taproom on 3rd Street closed for good at the end of December 2025, so the Outpost at Midtown Cinema is now the main place to drink their beer in Harrisburg. The brewery also keeps a smaller Outpost going at the historic Broad Street Market a short walk away, which pairs nicely with a stroll through the market's food vendors. The tap list rotates and leans eclectic, ranging from easygoing lagers to more adventurous sours and seasonal brews, so checking their site or Untappd before you go is the smart move. The surrounding Midtown blocks are walkable and full of art, food, and history, making the whole area an easy add-on to a day around Harrisburg or Hershey.
