Estate Winery & Brewery · Harrisburg, PA
Royal Winery is a roughly 60-acre estate winery and brewery on Devonshire Road in Harrisburg, PA — wine, craft beer, food trucks, and weekend live music on the property long known as SpringGate, about 35 minutes southwest of our shop.
Our take Royal Winery sits right along the route between Hershey and the I-81/I-83 corridor — an easy add-on to a day out, and only about 35 minutes southwest of our shop at I-81 Exit 80 in Grantville. If anything's nagging at your car on the way back north, we're glad to take a look.
This is the kind of spread-out, spend-the-afternoon spot that's hard to find this close to the Hershey-Harrisburg corridor. The estate sits at 5790 Devonshire Road in Dauphin County, on grounds that were a wine destination for years under the SpringGate name. A new family took over the property in 2025 and relaunched it as Royal Winery, keeping the acreage, the vineyard setting, and the brewery while adding their own touches. Having a winery and a brewery under one roof is the practical draw — a group with mixed wine-and-beer preferences doesn't have to compromise.
Because the current ownership is still relatively new, the programming is the part that keeps evolving. The shop's understanding is that weekends bring live music and a rotating lineup of food trucks, and the estate handles private events and group gatherings. The grounds are large enough that good weather makes a real difference in how much of the place you actually get to enjoy. It reads as a destination that's still settling into its stride, which is part of what makes it worth a look.
Generally open Wednesday and Thursday 5–9 PM, Friday 5–10 PM, Saturday 11 AM–10 PM, and Sunday 11 AM–7 PM as of our last check, with the property typically closed Monday and Tuesday. Because this is a newer operation with an evolving schedule, hours and event days shift — call ahead or check their site and social pages to confirm current hours before a special trip.
Royal Winery is in Harrisburg, PA. The map shows both pins — Royal Winery and our shop in Grantville — so you can see exactly where it sits relative to us.
It's the same property under new ownership. The Devonshire Road estate operated for years as SpringGate; a new family took it over in 2025 and reopened it as Royal Winery. The acreage and vineyard infrastructure carried over, while the branding and some additions are new.
Both. The estate runs a winery and a brewery on site, so wine drinkers and beer drinkers can stay together for the same visit. Check the site or call ahead for what's pouring on a given day.
From what we've seen, weekends bring a rotating lineup of food trucks rather than a fixed in-house menu. Offerings vary by day, so if a meal matters to your plan, confirm the schedule before you head out.
It generally operates as a walk-in tasting room and event space during posted hours, but larger groups and private events are typically arranged ahead. As a newer operation, policies can change — calling first is the safe move for a group visit.
